Ex Rabbitohs Coach Takes Post at Roosters

Jason Taylor ex South Sydney coach who was sacked in September, has taken on an unpaid post with the NRL as the Sydney Roosters’ kicking coach.

Taylor’s contract was abruptly ended by the Rabbitohs following the now infamous incident at Forresters Hotel when he and Rabbitohs forward David Fa’alogo engaged in some karate-inspired “horseplay” after an eight-hour drinking session, which ended with the Kiwi international knocking him out.  He has offered his services to the Roosters free of charge.

Roosters CEO Steve Noyce and new mentor Brian Smith, both know Taylor from his playing days at Western Suburbs and Parramatta. Noyce said they didn’t have a problem with the karate incident and said he’d been a great ambassador for rugby league.

Taylor remains the third-highest point-scorer of all time in top flight Australian rugby league, largely down to his ball kicking skills.
