Etihad Pitch Is a Disgrace

Melbourne Victory lost 2-0 to Korean team Seongnam Ilhwa in the Asian Champions League at the Etihad Stadium last night.

Archie Thompson, The Victory’s striker, has slated the pitch there as “a cow paddock” and said something desperately needs to be done to improve it before the A-League grand final on Saturday week.

The pitch is said to be in terrible condition - uneven, bumpy and with large bald patches.

The Etihad surface has been troubling players and coaches all season. Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick described it earlier in the season as like “a car park”.

Clarke and Bingles Future On The Line

The reason for Michael Clarke quitting the New Zealand tour to return to Sydney has become clear - he is feeling “confused and lost” about his long term relationship with Lara Bingle - since a nude photo of her was published in a Woman’s Day magazine.

The photo was taken by her former lover Brendan Fevola and shows the model naked in the shower. It has apparently caused Lara much distress, and she she has since appeared in the very same magazine to protest her innocence.

But sources close to Clarke said he is getting increasingly distressed and angry about the spotlight on his life, which has continued to grow since Bingle paired up with celebrity agent Max Markson.

The nude photo furore is thought to be the last straw and his fiancee’s decision to sell her side of the story to Woman’s Day for $200,000 is believed to be what finally pushed Clarke over the edge.

Clarke is expected to fly back in time for Australia’s two-Test series against the Black Caps on March 19 but wants to get things straight regarding his relationship’s future before then.

Sources in the fashion world said Bingle has confided she is resigned to the fact that Clarke will most likely ask her to move out.

Learning the Nuances to Bet Bets Betting as a Winner

Sports-betting is not a new form of gambling. Thousands of years back, Greeks used to bet on bull fights, cock fights, and so many such nerve-wrenching sports events. Today, sports-betting has become a popular pastime. Many gamblers also etch out a living as they have picked up the nuances to bet decisively, logically, and intelligently. In short, they have mastered the art to bet as a winner.

Tricks to Win Bets in Animal Races

In sports gambling events that deal with animals, you need to know their performance, course condition, age, and experience of the animal. For motor or cycle races, you need to check out the players and their sporting mettle.

If you know how your favorite horse is going to perform, you can bet decisively. Some diehard horse lovers are good bettors as they not only know the animals, the performance, but also know how well they would be able to win the game.

With odds ranging from losers to slow-but-steady runners and good sprinters, you can bet in small stakes at different stages of the sports event to win bets.

Online Betting Hubs

Why is it so that an experienced punter would prefer to go online, log into an online sportsbook, and watch the game? He would bet looking at the odds, proceedings of the race before deciding on his future action.

Online sporting bets give you an entire view of how the race is proceeding. You can zoom in to watch you favorite biker biking his way to the winning post. You can also avail some bonus points, freerolls, and profitable odds to bet as a winner.

Bet on Smaller Stakes

Many experts say that betting on smaller stakes and getting smaller but frequent returns can help you master the trade of sports betting. Don’t look at the single stake but look at the future. Why would you want to ruin your money by wasting it on a progressive jackpot when you can win small amounts frequently?

Many bookmakers offer prize money for all. There are weekend specials and teasers to help you rake money even if you thing you are not betting enough. Bet like a winner by betting judiciously.

Bank on Sportsbook

Today, online sports betting hubs have created a dent in the market. Gone are the days when you had to bet through a bookmaker. Betting now-a-days is a lucrative proposition as the sportsbook offer a just environment, with lucrative odds, and efficient service.

So, get, set, and go with your endeavor to bet as a winner, keeping in mind these salient tips.

Sports Betting Wisely to Help Manage Your Bankroll

Sports betting is a passion that bettors love to fulfill. Betting often takes the front seat when major tourneys are round the corner. Just think about a carnival where hundreds of spectators are watching a horse race while many more are betting on the winner. It is really hard to check yourself from this frenzy. However, if you were to bet almost all of your bankroll on a single gambling session, you are a goner.

Betting Wisely

Before you embark into the betting world, do your homework well. Don’t forget to manage your bankroll. For instance, have you planned how much you are going to bet in a sports event? Betting is packed with luck, unpredictable moves, and emotional upheavals. You should know how to logically decide on your course of action even if you’ve lost or won your bet.

Managing Your Bankroll

Firstly, read the tips, reviews, comments, and blogs of experienced sports gamblers before you start betting. They would provide you with immense knowledge, wisdom, and practical picture of the betting world.

Although, sports betting hubs provide lucrative odds, bonus, freerolls, and many more profitable offers, you may not win all these in reality. Be sure to put small stakes cautiously. Never go beyond 2-3 percent of your bankroll even if you are on a winning spree.

Managing Your Emotions

If you get emotional, addicted, or put all your money in high stake, think twice. Leave the betting arena and come back when you are fresh again. Keep a check before you get wiped out in the betting frenzy.

In short, experts opine that you should bet in small quantities in different odds provided by the bookmakers. Don’t bet too much on any gaming session as the house or sports betting hub would inevitably win from your betting at larger quantities.

Judging the Bonus Points

There are many sports book that offers lucrative bonus points for opening an account. There are few others which offer 15 percent advantage on betting if you were to place sports bet worth 25 percent of your bankroll. In statistics it would show that you would win in hefty amounts. But in reality, you would go bankrupt and get wiped away.

This is because; gambling hubs offer promotional schemes to lure the bettors. If you are a seasoned player you would know where to draw the line. If you are a newbie player you would lose some money before you learn the nuances of the trade.

But, be sure not to get wiped out of the gambling arena because of immature betting decisions.

Sports betting is the general activity of predicting sports results by making a wager on the outcome of a sporting event. Perhaps more so than other forms of gambling, the legality and general acceptance of sports betting varies from nation to nation. In the United States, for example, sports gambling is only legal in Nevada casinos, while in many European nations bookmaking (the profession of accepting sports wagers) is highly regulated but not criminalized. Proponents of legalized sports betting generally regard it as a hobby for sports fans that increases their interest in particular sporting events, thus benefiting the leagues, teams and players they bet on through higher attendances and television audiences. Opponents fear that, over and above the general ramifications of gambling, it threatens the integrity of amateur and professional sport, the history of which includes numerous attempts by sports gamblers to fix matches, although proponents counter that legitimate bookmakers will invariably fight corruption just as fiercely as governing bodies and law enforcement do. Most sports bettors are overall losers as the bookmakers odds are fairly efficient. However, there are professional sports bettors that make a good income betting sports.

Stirling Moss on Road to Recovery

British Formula One racing legend Stirling Moss has suffered serious injuries to his feet after falling down a lift shaft at his residence in London at the weekend.

The lift stopped a floor above Moss but the doors opened and he stepped in without realising, falling three floors to the ground.

The 80-year-old racing veteran suffered two broken ankles, four broken bones in his feet and four chipped vertebrae.

Fortunately he is now apparently comfortable and recovering in a London hospital after surgery to both ankles, which have been plated and pinned, according to a statement published on his website.

He is expected to take six weeks to recover from his injuries.

During his extensive motor racing career, he raced over 80 cars and took part in 529 races, winning 212 of them.

Schumaker Raring to Go

Michael Schumacher is ready to fight for Formula One success this season when he returns to the racetrack for the first time this weekend after retiring in 2006.

Driving the Mercedes Silver Arrow car, Schumacher is hoping it will be the key to his success this year. His team driver is Nico-Rosberg and he is reunited with Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn, who was at the helm of Benetton and Ferrari when he won world titles for them.

Schumaker said the season would be long and hard but he is looking forward to the fight - it’s what brought him back to F1 inthe first place. But he did say not to expect success immediatley.

Knights Sponsorships in the Balance

The Newcastle Knights face uncertain times as both their major sponsors met with the NRL’s chief executive Steve Burraston to discuss recent off-field dramas yesterday.

Two players have now been charged with drug dealing - Danny Wicks and Chris Houston - who were housemates as well as teammates. They have voluntarily ended their contracts following the charges.

After the meetings with NIB and McDonalds, Burraston said he was feeling positive as the sponsors had been able to talk about a number of concerns and he would now provide further information to them to aid the ongoing relationship with the organisations.

He added he was pleased and thankful he’d been given the opportunity to brief the sponsors.

Clarke Quits

Australia’s cricket Vice-captain Michael Clarke has quit the tour of New Zealand and is coming back home to Sydney for personal reasons.

There is some speculation he’s leaving because his father is ill, but this is completely unconfirmed at this stage and it is not known when he will return. His early departure leaves the team with just 12 players. Both paceman Clint McKay and all-rounder Adam Voges are hoping for a place now.

A spokesman said a replacement player may be called up from Australia for the final two one-day games on Thursday and Saturday.

As for the two-Test series starting on March 19, it is not known if he will be back by then and the squad is due to be named later this week.

Clarke’s time in New Zealand this time hasn’t been great, although he did captain the Australian Twenty20 side to a six-wicket win in Wellington, the team lost in Christchurch two days later.

Clarke is regarded as a possible successor to skipper Ricky Ponting.
